Slow week...

Not much going on this past week...It took until at least Wednesday to recover from my summer cold that I seem to get every July!

We did hit the six week mark from our vacation.  We are getting so excited...after several "family meetings" we have our week planned out and we can't wait.  It consists of flying (instead of driving), St. Petersburg Beach (gulf side), family pictures at sunset, off-shore fishing, Islands of Adventure, Magic Kingdom (complete with lunch at Cinderella's Table, Epcot and several "at home" days.  We built in lazy days since we have a house rented with a pool and hot tub.  Gotta enjoy that as well.

This is our celebration trip to mark Chad's one-year remission, his 40th birthday last year and mine this year.  Gosh, I can't believe that I soon will not be in my 30's! Yikes...I'm too young for that!

Here is one picture I got this weekend of Isa in the pool at the gym...we had a good time on a hot afternoon!

Random summer pictures

The tooth fairy left me something...$5 bucks with blue "fairy dust" on the front!
Dad's truck all clean (Jordan was proud of how it looked)
Me and Uncle Robbie making a Penske truck at Home Depot
 Visiting Aunt Sherri at work
Getting my groove on at Claire's Boutique
I am a roller skating maniac
At the Doctor's office - already had to wear the paper gown!
Two shots...No tears!  We were finally able to get all our 5-year vaccinations.
I am sick at home today...Isabel was drawing me pictures so she drew one of me coughing!  Too funny...I also got an I Love you Jackie note...She is such a sweet girl!

Happy Monday tomorrow!

Oh tooth fairy...will you visit tonight?

Mom pulled my tooth out and it did not even hurt!
Thanks for the tooth fairy pillow Great-grandma Foster...we will be using it tonight!

Why do they grow up?

First kids:  You want them to do everything fast, be born, crawl, walk, lose that first tooth.  Well Jordan took his time on everything...he was a week overdue, was 14 months before he walked and was way over seven before he lost his first tooth.  He did everything in his own time (still does to some extent).

Last/Second kiddos:  You want them to stay babies forever since you know they are your last.  Isabel on the other hand has done everything quicker to my dismay!  She was a week early, she walked one day before her first birthday, and now barely six she has lost that first tooth.

WHY!

Why did these past six years pass so quickly...believe me I tried to slow it down, to keep her a baby forever but time is sometimes not our friend.  She seems to grow bigger (and taller) with each passing day.  Everyday when I get her out of bed (more like drag her out), she stretches and I tell her "quit doing that, Daddy says to stop because that makes you bigger."  She just laughs and does it all the more.

Oh to be six again...Hope you have happy dreams tonight about the tooth fairy visiting you sweet girl and be sure to check under your pillow in the morning!

Love,
Mommy

Love my new job

I'm sure some of you were wondering where I landed recently...I accepted a new position at The Taben Group in Corporate Woods. I am their new Manager of Flex Services.

What is that you might ask? Well I will be running their new Flex Services Division which includes FSAs, HRAs, HSAs, commuter benefits etc. It is a great opportunity and I am extremely excited about it. I have been very busy over the last three weeks learning so much and meeting new people.

Thanks for all your prayers for Chad, he is doing great and we are looking forward to a fantastic summer and vacation in September.

We promised Isabel that when daddy got better we would go to the beach...she has NOT forgotten this and so we leave in September for Orlando and St. Pete beach. This will be our celebration trip for Chad's recovery, his 40th birthday (last year) and mine (although I want to point out that I am still only 39 until way after this trip).

Isabel's tooth is still loose so we have yet to use the tooth fairy pillow but it won't be long. She was so cute the other day as I had to leave super early for a trip to Wichita with my manager for the day. She asked "Are you going on a train?" She also asked when I came home that night "Did you have a good trip with your boss?" too funny... Chad on the other had forgotten I even went to Wichita...until Isabel asked this question.

Also, I had made her breakfast sandwich before I left and she got it out of the fridge and warmed it up in the microwave herself...she is getting to big too fast! She said something funny tonight but for the life of me I cannot remember what is was!  Oh well...good night!

Birthday Girl

Ok these pictures are backwards but that is ok...This is at Powell Gardens last Saturday when we took her and three friends to the Fairy Tree house exhibit.  It was a hot one...
 Ashley, Rylee, Isa, Jenna
Good friends...I'll have to post the video of them singing Red Solo Cup on the way home - stinking funny!
Ok this was her actual birthday - passed out on the living room floor after three days of cheer camp and birthday stuff!  One tired girl!
I can't believe she is six already...where does the time go!
Both my kids are getting so big but such a blessing to us and we love them so much!
Cheer camp - parents performance (on her birthday) - she is smiling so big if you zoom in!  Chad is not happy that they taught them how to do the splits - ugh those daddy's being protective of their little girls!
This was a real cute "Aloha" cheer
Both my kids do not lack in the social friend skills...she is having a good time here.  The high school cheerleaders sang Happy Birthday to her when they were in their small group.  So sweet of them to do that!
Look - I got an iTouch - now I can stop using mommy's phone!
I always take a picture of her in the mornings on her birthday...Happy Birthday baby girl!

SHRMJC Golf Tournament

It was a beautiful day today at Ironhorse Golf Club
We raised money for SAFEHOME and had a great time in the process!

I won't tell you what place we came in as it was all in a day's work but we all better keep our day jobs if you catch my drift!

Get the tooth fairy pillow ready...

While I was brushing her teeth tonight I noticed a tooth pushing it's way through behind a bottom baby tooth.  I then wiggled her bottom tooth and its official - it's loose!

We ran to get the tooth fairy pillow and she was so excited and said "I'm going to get $20."  Whoa kiddo!  I told her "the tooth fairy in this neighborhood is not that rich, and you most likely will not get that much."  I told her to ask Jordan, he would know...

Why do all these milestones have to come at one time?  Give me a break for a while will you...

I started my new job on Friday at The Taben Group as their new Manager of Flex Services.  It's going to be a great opportunity and I'm very excited...

Have a great week

Ahoy mate!

I was not sure what these two things were until she put them on and said "Hello Mate."

Tomorrow is the last day of Kindergarten...she is so excited to be a first grader - me, not so much!  I put a note in her lunch today since it was the last day for lunch, so she put a note in my lunch bag already for tomorrow...she is so sweet!

I can't believe that the school year went so fast...I swear we were just writing that we took her to school that first day!

Happy Mother's Day - Busy Week!

We have had a fantastic week...I received an offer for a new job (I accepted - and will tell you about it later).  Chad had his one-year post transplant scans yesterday and he is still CANCER FREE! Yesterday I went to my baby girl's Mother's Day Kindergarten Tea.  I think the last day of Kindergarten will be harder than the first - oh well life goes on!

It's been a great week.  We ended the week at swimming lessons and gymnastics and here are some pictures to sum it up...Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day!

Royal FUN!

This was a big week for us...we celebrated one-year post transplant for Chad on Wednesday along with Connie's birthday.  Last night we went to the Royals game (they won this time) and this weekend is the Ladies banquet at church.

Isabel had her last Kindergarten snack day today and since she has a summer birthday we did a cupcake for her and cookies today.  It was so HARD to put six candles on that cupcake and made me so sad that she is growing up so fast.

However, she had a blast at the Royals game...of course I'm broke now after the snow-cone, cotton candy and popcorn (+ 2 waters) in addition to all the food the boys ate.  Oh well we all had a fantastic time.  Happy Friday all!

 Royals opening day - 4.13.12
It was a beautiful day, but the guys at work said I can never go to another one since the Royals lost all 10 home games after we went!  Oops!

Chad and I prior to the Jimmy Buffett concert on 4.21.12
Jordan taking 4th place overall in discus at his track meet on 4.24.12
Isabel and a friend enjoying a play date 4.29.12

It's been a good month, Chad is scheduled for his one-year post transplant exams on May 11th.  He will be celebrating his new birthday next week on May 2nd (same day as Connie's birthday).  Today we are enjoying a quiet rainy Sunday afternoon.

Have a great week everyone...

Chad and I are going to opening day for the Royals tomorrow...This is the first time both of us have ever been. This is an early birthday present for Chad who now has a new birthday of May 2nd (from his stem-cell transplant).

I will post some pictures soon...

Easter 2012 - My sweet girl & cousins

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday today. So much better than last year...the day after Easter last year was Chad's first chemo day for his stem-cell transplant (May 2). It's so wonderful to know that is all behind us now. He will have scans again soon to make sure but we are certain he is still in remission.
As a celebration of his up-coming new "Birthday" I surprised him with tickets to opening day of the Royals. I can't wait until Friday...we will have a blast!
Hope everyone had a blessed day!
